Central Florida’s Running Store
This local business has a long standing history in Central Florida. Opening in 1977 by three Central Florida business men later to be bought by Jon and Betsy Hughes.
Over the years this little running store has expanded into more than just a place to buy running shoes. They are one of the top rated running stores in the United States, but best of all, Track Shack gives back to the community in so many different ways. They offer different running programs, organize race events like the OUC 1/2 Marathon, and started a foundation that supports health with an emphasis on youth programs like Girls on the Run.
From a personal experience, this is where my running life started. My very first race was the IOA Corporate 5K. After that, I was hooked! Joined the Marathonfest Running Program where MIJ, Jim Kirwin, the administrator of the training program, was the leader of my running group. He would run with our group on Saturday (which was an average of 10miles or more); and then he would run the same or longer distance with his group on Sunday. Such great memories; and if you’re looking for a great group of people to run with, Track Shack has a group for you!
This quote from Betsy Hughes pretty much sums it up for Track Shack, “Shoes and feet are our business, but PEOPLE ARE OUR SPECIALTY“.
