Melissa Johnson · February 8, 2021 ·

Do you have a sweet tooth like me? Well here is your list of some of Central Florida’s best local candy shops! If you have a favorite not listed, don’t keep it a secret. Let us know where you get you get your sugar craving fix.

Rocket Fizz

If you want to step back in time and run down memory lane, Rocket Fizz is a one stop shop. There are literally thousands of bottled soda pops and candies from all over and some from other galaxies. The gigantic selection will launch you back in time to when you were a kid—even if you are over a hundred light years old.

Peterbrooke Chocolatier

Surprisingly this chocolatier, Phyllis Lockwood Geiger, did not get her big beginning by using her own recipes and creations, but by passing out buttery popcorn from a local movie theater covered in hand-tempered milk chocolate at a neighborhood holiday festival. Chocolate covered popcorn, is one of their signature offerings, along with chocolate covered potato chips and Oreo cookies! FUN FACT: The store is named after her son and daughter, “Peterbrooke”

Become the chocolatier and make sweet memories while creating your own chocolate confections. You can even host your next party here for a unique and fun experience.

Sugar Plum Sweetshop

This must be one of the most famous candy stores around the world, but you’ll have to visit Universal Studios to get to it! This is the candy store located on Diagon Alley visited by Harry Potter and friends. You’ll find everything from cauldron cakes to Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans™, Acid Pops, and Exploding Bonbons.

Godiva

I have to admit this is the chocolate that officially turned me into a chocolate snob! The Godiva Chocolatier Mall of Millenia offers a selection of freshly dipped treats in addition to our luxury chocolate gift boxes, irresistible chocolate truffle and butter shortbread biscuit cookies. WARNING: this chocolate may turn you into a chocolate snob, too!

It’s Sugar

This is the place where the candy-obsessed come to indulge in their favorite sweets. IT’SUGAR is a different kind of specialty store. Dedicated to bringing out the child in every adult, the brand mixes unique product and merchandise with mega-sized humor and attitude. FUN FACT: Founder, Jeff Rubin, was the creator of a candy business for F.A.O. Schwartz toy store – called F.A.O. Schweetz.

Lindt Chocolate Shop

This might be the one of the oldest confectionary shops dating back to 1845. If you’re a history buff, you’ll want to check out their full story. Lindt chocolate created a chocolate masterpiece, the iconic Lindor recipe. The delicious Lindt chocolate shell enrobes an ultimately smooth filling. Once the shell breaks, the irresistible and decadent filling starts to melt in mouth.

Ghiradelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shope

Located inside Disney World’s Disney Springs. This chocolate shope gives free samples and serves a fabulous ice scream sundae! FUN FACT: An Italian immigrant, Domingo Ghirardelli, started the company after finding success during the California Gold Rush.
